ECE can be treated as universal branch among all circuit branches (CSE, IT, ECE, EIE, TE), because ECE students are eligible for both hardware and software jobs.
We've tried to provide the best info. and regret any inaccuracies but don't bear any legal responsibilities.
What is this branch about…?
In this branch, we deal with Analolg and Digital circuits (Hardware) and their applications, The following are some
of the things dealt with in these branches:
Basics of Electronics
Digital circuit design
Electromagnetic Wave Propagation
Understanding the nature of Signal and processing it to extract the information
Analog and Digital Signal generation , Transmission and Reception (Wired and Wireless)
Design of Computer Architecture
Design of chips, boards and circuits through VLSI
Assembly Language Programming
One or two high level Programming Languages (C or C++)
Basics of Intermediate:
This branch requires strong basics of Physics and Mathematics. Mainly, the Electricity subject of Physics will be expanded.
Electronics Circuit Analysis
Signals and Systems
Microprocessors and their interfacing
Digital Signal Processing
Practicals to be done:
The most strong and difficult area in this branch is the practical. One should put some extra effort in learning it because this branch covers wide areas. A few of them are: Analyzing analog and digital circuits, Digital communication, Signal processing, Assembly level language programming and also tougher ones like VLSI and VHDL Designing (Chip designing).
This field has very high salaries (more than CSE and IT). As we are eligible for software jobs too, we can say that we have a vast scope for jobs.Posts like Scientist (Public Sector), Software Developer, Chip designer, Communication Engineer, Telecommunication Engineer and manager, Embedded System designer, Analyst, Tester etc. are the ones for which we are eligible and they exist in almost all IT companies.
A feeling that “After studying ECE, we should switch to IT field” shouldn’t be there in mind because CSE, IT, ECE and EIE they all come under Circuit Branches and are eligible for any job in the IT industry. There are plenty of jobs in hardware companies too. Moreover, you will have an added advantage to choose from IT jobs and Electrical jobs.
